Motorcraft 2100

I went to autozone today to order a motorcraft 2100, and it was 90-something plus a 30 dollar core. Not bad. But they told me that they only sell the most commonly used CFM rating, and that i have to adjust the flow myself with a venturi meter. Is the carb from autozone the correct "1.08" 2100 that i need, or will i have to adjust it myself? And what do i have to do to adjust it?

Re: Motorcraft 2100

The only flow you can adjust is the flow of fuel by changing jets, not cfm's. The venturi's cannot be "adjusted", unless you are talking about specialized machine shop work. No need to adust the venturi's, the 1.08 is the size of the venturi's and that is a nice size for a 258 and the cfm's it requires. Too big a carb causes poor throttle response. Order the carb for a 304 AMC v8.

Re: Motorcraft 2100

What was the part number? What vehicle did you order from? Let us know when you get it. I want to put one on my Scrambler. The ones' I priced were closer to $200, $174.99 w/$30 core.

Thanks,

Re: Motorcraft 2100

I told him I wanted a carb from an amc 304, he said that it doesnt matter, that they are all the same. Do motorcraft 2100s only come with venturis that are 1.08 or are there other sizes? and if i just say i want one from a 304, will that for sure be the right one?

Re: Motorcraft 2100

I believe there are three different sizes available for that carb:
1.08 - 200 CFM
1.14 - 200-300 CFM
1.21 - 360 CFM

Hopefully the one Autozone can get for you is the 1.08 model so you'll continue to have a nice, snappy throttle response.

Re: Motorcraft 2100

I have seen a lot of you talking about this motorcraft 2100. I did some looking, and I guess this is for a 2 bbl carb. Is there a good motorcraft to go with for a 1 bbl? Thanks.
