jeep dealership

As I already said I am looking into getting a TJ this saturday. I am worried about the dealership not having what I'm looking for, the silver sport, with the dana 44's, and what not.. Is the dana 44 common to a lot of wranglers enough that the dealership will have them on lot, or is this something I'm going to have to wait for weeks to come in? any help on this would be great

Re: jeep dealership

From looking around at TJs on the lot here, ones with D44s on the lot are nonexistent, they appear to be an order option, not something the dealer considers.

Re: jeep dealership

Its a gamble, especially if you want a certain color. When I bought mine, they had none on the lot and I ended up settling for one with a 35c which I now regret. I just got too excited when I found the one I wanted, it had basically everything I wanted except the 44 and I got a fairly good deal on it so I jumped on it by convincing myself that I was going to upgrade everything anyway . Now I have a 35c with 3.07 gears that I need to upgrade with a super 35 kit or a 44 and some lower gears. Oh well, live and learn from your mistakes. I would recommend waiting for what you want and not settling. Its worth the wait

Re: jeep dealership

It must depend on where you are. Here in Denver I was at the dealer yesterday waiting for my ZJ. Took a look at a dozen TJ's and 10 had 44's. I would think that if your dealer doesn't have one, they could ship one in from another dealer. Would still be a lot quicker than ordering.

Good luck!

Justin

Re: jeep dealership

Yeah, our dealership here in Farmington is notorious for being pretty bad, and right in the 4 wheeling center of the universe!!

Re: jeep dealership

Yeah that does sound logical. I'm excited about getting it too, thanks for reminding me to not get too anxious. Yeah I'll bet they can ship it in or find it somewhere. Oh boy I hate dealerships

Re: jeep dealership

If your local Jeep dealer doesn't have what you want on hand instead of ordering have him check with other dealers (they do this all the time) if he can locate what your looking for the dealers will just swap one Jeep for another, when I was considering buying a new Jeep the dealer hee told me about this it's much faster than ordering a Jeep from the factory.
