Tom,

Can I request pictures of your motor mount brackets that bolt to your engine? I'm getting ready to swap in a 4.0L and am told the brackets are the same between a 4.2L and a 4.0L, but don't have any 4.2L's to go by.

Much appreciated!

Chris

Oh truely do something with that manifold. P-L-E-A-S-E ! Everything else is so gorgeous. I've got a '79(1/2" head bolts) in the corner of the gerage that's gonna git a 4.0 head some day. The '85 in it now is pullin 21 inches of vacuum with an ocasional lifter tick calmed down with Rislone.

Re: Here are a couple of pics of my new engine!!!!

I'll try to post some pics tonight of the motor mounts. I guess maybe I should paint that manifold. I still have some of the accessory brackets to paint. For anyone who is interested, the shiny bracket at the front on the P-side is a rotary AC bracket that has been modified for a York compressor. All I need to do is drill the holes for the York.

Mind if I ask how you prep'd your engine??? I'm getting ready to paint mine and wanted some ideas on how to get rid of all the "crap & grime" on it now....

ThanX,
Tucker

Tom-
I'd like to know more about that bracket!
What's it off of?

BTW: Shame on you (and Brad too) for using a FORD! color.
What's wrong with the medium blue AMC color I might ask??
Look too 'pansey' for ya?

No 'turn coat' blue on mine!!
... just kidding ...

Re: Here are a couple of pics of my new engine!!!!

I'm also curious about the bracket?? I have the same one, without the compressor, did you just grind the old bolt holes off??? Guess you will just set the York on there and line up with the pulley?? Is there enough clearance for the hood with the york sitting there? I just brought another compressor from a junk yard off an YJ that fits my bracket, but it has a serp. pulley and I need a V-belt. Thinking I might try what you did and just use a York?

Looks good, and don't lsten to those non-ford lovers, that color is a thing of beauty and will most likely make that engine run better, but I have to agree with painting the manifold
