Ring and Pinion Replacement Question

I want to replace the gearing in my new TJ from the 3.07 gears that are currently in it so I can go with larger tires and to lower my gearing. Question is, I know on the older CJ's you need a different carrier if you go with the lower gears (e.g. from a 2.73 to a 3.73). Will I need to do the same to convert from 3.07's to 4.10's on my TJ? Anything else I need to consider besides the axle weakness issues with the 30 and the 35C when I swap out the gearing? This is just the first step, I will eventually go with the Suoer 35 kit on the rear, and upgrade the axle shafts on the front. Thanks for the help.

Re: Ring and Pinion Replacement Question

Yes, you will have to change the carrier. The range on the 35c's is 3.31 or lower and 3.54 or higher.
