adapter does not fit!

well my advance adapter for connecting my dana300 to my new 4L80E tranny came today and the adapter plate will not bolt to my tranny correctly! the bolt pattern is right but the ridge that is supposed to set into the tranny is too big by almost 1/8". i have a machinest buddy who could fix it right up but i'm going to send it back. i hate paying for stuff that isn't right!

Re: adapter does not fit!

Damn that bites!! But that seems to be the way things happen anymore. You are almost better off buying the machines needed to make the adapters, and pack them into your garage. Seems like almost everything purchased these days needs an "adjustment" to get it to work. That's not always bad.... but when you shell out hard earned money... it should be RIGHT!!!

Feeling your pain.....

Re: adapter does not fit!

That really does suck. Advanced Adapters charge so much for the their "Expertise" with making adapters and they can't get you one that fits correctly. I would take as many pictures of the adapter and measure everything on it and then machine yourself one. Hell with the money you get back from AA you can get the machine work done and get a couple of six packs of guiness.
