I mean really lived in your jeep...I have been for 5 days now. My ex roommate got married recently & I ended up homeless so thier baby could have a room. Well I says to myself "self, it's nice out. Might as well enjoy the outdoors" So I start the planning. I need shelter but it's too hot to live in a tent. For that I rigged some climbing biners to my roll bar and made a lean to out of a tarp. Already had the jerry can for water. I use my back seat as a couch under the lean to. My passenger mirror works great for shaving, and the lighter charges my cell phone. The beer/food cooler is a perfect fit with the seat folded forward. My neighbors in $10,000 motorhomes complain about my music at night though. The real pain in the arse is packing it up for work and setting up everyday. That shower setup is starting to sound like a good idea! So am I nuts or has anyone else done this?

Last summer my buddy and I quit our jobs and travelled 19,000 miles around the country in a YJ. Massachusetts to Key West, to Texas, Utah, Cali, Oregon, Washington, Canada, Then back across the north back to Massachusetts.

We lived in the Jeep for 4-1/2 months. [img]/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif[/img] Best time I've ever had in my life. If you guys ever get a chance to go see the country in a Jeep, I highly recommend it.

We shaved in the mirrors many times. We took the back seat out, in order to have room for a full size cooler, a small grill, coleman stove, tools, tent, sleeping bags, etc. It's amazing how much stuff you can fit in a Jeep if you organize it well. We had a cell phone and a CB, and a CD player, and went from campground to campground.

No better way to live. [img]/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif[/img] One of our big jokes was "Hey, have you seen the (phone / map / etc)?" "Yeah, man, it's in the house (meaning, jeep)" We'd meet girls in the campground, and we'd say "Hey, how do you like our house?" and point to the Jeep. Sigh, what a great trip.
