Torque for tcase skid plate mounting bolts?

I couldn't find the values for these in any of the manuals I have (including the FSM). Does anybody know?

Re: Torque for tcase skid plate mounting bolts?

about 50 arms pound. I doubt there is a torque spec for just that bolt you will probably have to go to a manual that tells you what torque should a grade 5 5/16 bolt should be (or what ever bolt you are using. Just tighten it up but dont over do it and break them.

Can someone please bring me a hammer my 33's just ate my fender again. Damn i need more lift.

Re: Torque for tcase skid plate mounting bolts?

My Haynes manual says 95 ft/lbs - but I have borken them at much less. I currently have skid plate bolts on my 88 YJ at 75 ft/lbs with some medium strength threadlocker.

Been that way for about a year now and it is good to go! The skid plate has been rock tested - trust me!

These are 2 inch long 1/2-13 bolts (6 of them). Hank, what section did you find it under? I have the Haynes also.

I didn't actually look in my Haynes manual!! I have memorized so many of those numbers!! After digging for a few minutes, it actually came from a Chrysler body repair manual that I bought when I broke a front shackle hanger off the frame.

It all runs together - it's bad, I can't even remember when my wife's birthday is but I can quote torque specs!
