A little tip....

Just so you guys know, a multiport fuel injected 502 is way too much power for a CJ-5. I went to the local shop yesterday and saw one of the project rigs getting flipped back over on the street. The owner has been building this fully custom CJ-5 for about 9 months now and has finally gotten to test drive it. It has a custom frame, 60 rear end, custom IFS front, fiberglass body, full cage, and some sort of mickey thompsons on it. The man who is going to buy it had it built for drag racing. Anyway on one of its maiden voyages, the back hooked when a little gas was kicked into the 502....front came up, hood came up... and then it flopped on its side. Not much dammage though. So here it is...just a little tip for you. A 500+ horsepower engine is probably a bit much for a jeep. My opinion though.

97 Tj, 10" suspension lift, 38.5 SXs, 4.0, "flipped" dana 300. 44F/60R axles.

Re: A little tip....

Yep, you really need more wheelbase for that kind of juice...a cj-7 would be better. : )

Re: A little tip....

Personally, I don't think it was the engine. I believe the Jeep was trying to commit suicide because it was now fitted with an IFS! It couldn't bear the thought of being seen by the other Jeeps without a solid axle.

I'll bet his panties were a little messy.
Shoulda built a little longer wheelbase, that would be nice in a Scrambler?

Re: A little tip....

Well it sounds just about right to me. If ya got a roll cage made for rolling because you want to, then thats a perfect engine! A couple of drag bars would be nice for that AAAWWWWWSSSSOOOOMMMMMEEEEEE rig. jim
