How big a carb for my stock 258???Holley/Offy??

I was wondering what a 390 cfm carb would do on my stock 258? I have a newly remanufactured engine and the TR upgrade. It is the stock cam and exhaust manifold. The carb would be a 4 barrel Holley with an Offy intake. Is this gonna run to rich? Anyone else have a similar setup?

Thanks,
Tom

It won't work off road. I'd run a motorcraft or rochester 2bbl., they always run good.

Really???

What about putting a Quadrajet carb on the Offy manifold? Is that possible?

Thanks,

You really don't need that much carb. , It would more than likely have a bog whenever you mash it. I'm running a rochester 2bbl on a 454 and it runs nice and crisp.

Tom, what about a weber carb ? then you wont have to purchase a new intake mani? Me and Sully are looking at getting those pretty soon.
