Will This Work? d44 install.

Here is a pic of the first side of the d44 swap, as you may or may not know I am using scout axles and I am widening the front spring stance! Let me know if you think it will break! I gave it the 20lbs sledgehammer test and it never budged. Thanks:

Re: Will This Work? d44 install.

is that plate closest the frame 1/4 inch? is it bolted also?

Ive seen alot of folks weld them on, I prefer bolted thru, AND welded.

there is 3/4 inch of mild steel plate between my original frame rail and the bracket I added.

2 1/2 inch grade 8 bolts and Ill weld several one inch beads around the thing to help also.

check it out.

Re: Will This Work? d44 install.

yeah, I went ahead and pushed mine forward about 2 inches, I didnt reverse the shackle though, I went Spring over on a wag front 44.

your design looks like it will hold, just getting it all square is the hard part for me, I want the damn thing to drive straight!
