CJ5 Clutch stuff

OK I'll get harrassed for this but here goes: on a '78 CJ5
with a 4spd, does the clutch arm (the one that holds the throw out bearing) supposed to have a clipor lock of some type to hold it to the pivit ball?? all mine has is a little spring.. Second. have many people had a problem with the bell crank and if so whats the best fix.
thanks

Re: CJ5 Clutch stuff

I got a 78 cj5 with a t176 4sd, all I've got is the rod with the pivot ball going into a depresion in the clutch fork {pice that holds the throwout bearing} with a spring holding back the clutch fork towards the front of the motor. Ive never had any trouble with mine

Re: CJ5 Clutch stuff

There should not be a clip, that is what the spring is for, it holds everything together.
