Tranny/tcase options--need advise

Heres the story. I want to bolt together a drivetrain for my jeepster without buying $$ adapters.

What I've located so far is a d300 from a jeep, a scout d300 behind an auto tranny.

If I understand correctly the tf727 will bolt to the Jeep d300 and the scout has the tf727 in front of it already, so does the scout tranny have the same bolt pattern as the 304 in the jeepster or do I have to find a tranny to put in front of the jeep d300. The reason that I ask is that I haven't bought any yet and don't want to waste money.
Did the scout have its own bolt pattern or did they use an engine tranny adapter plate.

I know, lots of ?? but you guys have alot more experience with these trannies than the Jeepster guys.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Not new to wheeling but relatively new to Jeeps
