Spicer 18 interlock pill, how remove?

I've got my twin stick Spicer 18 torn apart right now for a rebuild. I want to remove the interlock pill tomorrow before I put everything back together. I'm not seeing how the shift rods come out of the front casting that bolts to the case. I have the detent balls removed. I have the shift levers removed. I have the front section removed from the rest of the case. I haven't dissasembled the front part of the case that the shift rods are in.

Once I pull one of the shift rods, the interlock pill should slide out the side hole that the detent ball came out, is this correct? How do the stupid shift rods come out?

On the Dana 20's, you twist the rods and then pull. I'm not exactly sure on the D18. I have one in the garage, maybe I'll give it a try. The interlock should come out once you have both rods out.

I think that the front shift rod should be pushed all the way forward, and then the rear shift rod will come out the front of the housing. Then the front one will come out after you take the screw holding the shift arm off. They should slide right out, especially if you've taken the detent balls out.
