Oil filter

I have a '79 CJ-5 258. Run like a charm..with the exception of the carb and this one little annoying problem.. It seems everytime i hit a bump kinda hard, by oil filter ends up getting smacked hard. What would be the easiest way to remedy this situation?
Thanks

Re: Oil filter

Relocate your oil filter. I had the same problem a couple of times, the 2nd time miles from nowhere. I had to wrap the filter with riggers tape, put in a mix of various weight oils scrounged from the guys I was wheeling with, and watch the pressure gauge like a hawk as I limped back to civilization. The kit I used I got from a hot rod shop called Yearwood Speed and Custom, but I'm sure any decent shop would have the same thing. Mine uses an adapter that goes where the filter mounts and uses 2 lines to run to a new bracket that will mount the filter. Mine uses 1 filter but you can get a 2 filter set up also. I mounted mine on the passenger side inner fender, it's well out of the way and easier to work with for routine oil changes. It ran @ $50. I don't know what brand it is, it's not on the receipt but the part # is TRA1120 which may or may not help.

Jeff

For my next trick I will take this good running vehicle and turn it into a paperweight.
