Power Tank Gas?

What is so special about using CO2 in a power tank verses N2 or a CO2/argon mix?

Re: Power Tank Gas?

Because CO2 can be found at any welding supply store for cheaper than the other gases you mentioned. Plus CO2 in a power tank is kept in liquid form so you can basicly get more air out of one tank full, in order to keep nitrogen in liquid form requires much more pressure and special fittings/hoses/regulators (that and it is around -297 F I believe) CO2 is just more practical and cost efficent.

Re: Power Tank Gas?

I guess my question is it safe to use Argon (AR) to fill a tire?
I have a bottle that has CO2/Argon mix and I would like to use it as a "home built" Power tank. Has anyone done this?
