Will the TR Upgrade help me?

I have an 87 YJ with the 258. And I have recently installed a Jacobs Pro Street Ignition System complete with a new HO coil from Jacobs. If I do the TR Upgrade, just adapter with a bigger Dist. Cap will it help my Jacobs Perform any better. I have heard with CD Ignition systems you have to have all parts of your ignition system in top condition. So I figured while I'm tuning up my engine, I might as well get the larger Dist. Cap...am I going in the right direction or is the Jacobs sufficient?

Re: Will the TR Upgrade help me?

Based on what I've read/seen the whole idea of the larger cap is to prevent arcing of the ignition spark from one terminal to the other. The original cap is a rather small diameter and is susceptible to this. The larger cap places the terminals further apart, reducing the chance of arcing. With the Jacobs in the mix, I would most definitely put the larger cap in.
