oil leak Problem fixed!!!
Well, after you pay the crooked mechanics several hundred, maybe thousand dollars and the jeep still doesnt work, you get this thought, "hmmm.. maybe its time to wrench on my little spare time..." Well, that time came for me this past week. I paid some mechanic to work on my car while I was at work. He was installing the pacesetter headers. A major pain in the ass. Anyway, when I got the bill, guess how much?
$600 dollars!!! for a $150 dollar job (welded the exhaust up to it too.) He pulled out his list of items to show me why it cost so much, and amazingly it added up. He had to send the original headers that I gave him back to pacesetter due to a warped flange. Then he paid to have another set rush shipped to him, and then he had to customize all the EGR stuff.
I didnt want to pay him that much, but I needed my baby back, and I know the guy worked hard on my jeep. Hes a friend so I trust him.
As many of you might know just from reading my previous posts, I had a major oil leak coming from the side of a cracked valve cover. I had to fix that, which wasnt too bad, but I had to come up with some fix-it-jim job for the EGR. THAT was a pain.
I guess the point of this story is this,
The jeep is running. Has some vacuum problems, but it is up, and there are NO leaks, and NO smoke anymore.
Thank you for your help guys!
