The best AMC 304 Manual

Does anyone know of a good thorough AMC 304 manual? I have a Haynes and it combines the 4,6 and 8 and assumes you know all the similarities and differences. I need ground zero, with pictures and arrows that's written for the guy who knows very little about brakes, much less engine tear down and rebuild. But I'm willin' to try!! Thanks for your help.

Re: The best AMC 304 Manual

The best is the factory tech manual with all the supliments, it can't be beat. But this is very hard to find. Some one posted a sight at one time that sold these manuals. I don't have it but some one probably has it.

Re: The best AMC 304 Manual

Best would probally be the factory service manual. Expensive but very detailed. You could try the dealer. Haynes is pretty good. I think your most info will be found here. If it's needed to be done it been discused here and many people will be able to give you some digital pics to help out.

Re: The best AMC 304 Manual

I found this place online. They quoted me $75.00 for a 1979 CJ7 shop reprint.

Re: The best AMC 304 Manual

Chek out Ebay, I have never paid more than $50 for a manual, and that was the 1997 TJ FSM. I routinely pay about $30, and won't go above $50. I think I am missing 4 of the CJ manuals, otherwise I have all of them, some Willys, Commando, and a bunch of J-trucks I bought for $8 each. You never know when you, or someone else, will need the info.
