Tuffy Console Finish

I recently bought a spice colored Tuffy console for my 90 YJ. Upon close inspection, I noticed the the finish on the front was rough and on the right side it was thin enough to see through. I called Tuffy and they said have the most problems with the spice colored fininsh, but they try to catch the problems before they ship. Quadratec picked up the old one and sent me a new one, but guess what? It had the same thin finish on the right side and there was a spot on one corner with no coating at all. It cost me about $13 to send it back to Tuffy to either recoat or replace. They told me they recoated it, I should get it anyday now. I was just wondering if anyone else was having the same problem.

It's a real pain to haul stuff to UPS for shipping (not to mention the cost). Tuffy offered to sent a cupholder, t-shirts or something to cover shipping cost. Since I received two defectives in a row, I asked Tuffy for an accomadation (special deal) on a Tuffy glovebox. Their special deal was about what Quadratec sells them for normaly, but I wouldn't have to pay shipping. That didn't impress me very much.

Re: Tuffy Console Finish

I've got a black one for my CJ and it looks good, a $10 cup holder doesent seem like much consideration, but Tuffy seems to make the best security products out there.

Re: Tuffy Console Finish

I have the spice tuffy box in my CJ7. I also got a replacement sent to me. The finish on the lid was rough. If I had it to do over I probably would have gotten black. I have the glovebox which only comes in black and the finish is much better.
