Fuel Pump 95 Yj 2.5

Ok, its times like this I miss my CJ more than ever... I have a 95 Yj that is losing much power around 3k rpm, have tried full tune up to include, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, coil, fuel filter, even a new throttle position sensor. The whole thing is driving me nuts. Anyway I figure the only two options I have left is a clogged cat, or a screwed up fuel pump. So finally the questions, and if anyone has anymore ideas for wierd crap that it could be please let me know as well. But ok, on a 95 Yj 2.5 if the in tank pump goes bad can you mount an external electric pump, and if so what is a good kind. And is there an easy way to test the old one to make sure its nasty without using the services of a mechanic? any help please :-)

Re: Fuel Pump 95 Yj 2.5

put you a fuel psi guage in the fuel line and see what the pressure does when you give it the juice. I would try to keep the pump in the tank though, the aftermarket ones are loud as hell.
