WOOOOHOOOOO got two NP435\'s tonight.

Got two NP435's tonight for $100.00. It won't be long and no more Peugeot transmission. That thing has got to be the French getting even with us!
Greater strength though BIGGER parts!

Re: WOOOOHOOOOO got two NP435\'s tonight.

The NP435 is a great off road tranny. Its almost indestructable, and its only 10 3/4" long. But its is not the best tranny for the street, and your 4.2 will feel it if you are already pushing the limits of your power with your tire size,(I couldnt tell what you are running since you dont have your profile filled out).
You have to remember that the 6.69 1st gear is worthless on the street. And if you have trouble pulling a 1:1 4th gear, that leaves you 2nd and 3rd for most of your street driving. 2nd will be a bit harder to get out of the hole than your current 4:1 1st gear, and there is a pretty good gap between 2nd and 3rd so you need to keep your RPMs up.
I have no problems with my current set up and the NP435, because I have more power than I know what to do with. But I used to fight with it a little when I had it behind the 89 Cherokee 4.0(it was in por shape though, and pretty weak when I installed it).
Just something to think about.

Wow, you can get a nice tan on your arms, from welding with no shirt on.
