On the 2nd of May I began replacing the rotted out frame on my 79 CJ7 with an 84 frame. I did 90% of it after getting off work and messing with it in the yard until it got dark. Hours of sandblasting, cutting off rusted hardware, waiting for the Hammerite to dry, and reading the factory shop manual led to countless trips to the Ace Hardware for replacement stainless and grade 8 bolts and down the street to look at another Jeep. New stainless brake lines, a Skyjacker 2" Suspension lift, and a 1.5" body lift were in order. After almost 2 months it all came to the point where it was time to fire it up. It was fantastic to hear the engine fire up. My biggest fear was that after all I had done she wouldn't start. I was smiling so big my face hurt. I'm still a couple of days from driving it but a major load is off my mind. Looks like I'll be riding in style for the 4th of July.
