Ok guys....here they are....
Before..........and for those of you (CJDave) who notice the beer in the background.....its MGD Light....and the only thing I was driving was the wrench...
And after...right side of the axle after the mods....I did the following....
1. U-Bolt flip. I bought the u-bolts from National and made my own top and bottom plates.
2. New brackets for sway bar. I welded on these Conferr bracets since the bolts for the sway bar were part of the old u-bolt plate...which is now gone.
3. Tie rod flip. The best part of this is that I now don't need a dropped Pitman arm. The hardest part was finding the reamer.
4. I softened up the springs....stripped, ends feathered, painted with Por15 and teflon pads added. Coupled with the RS9000 shocks, it is now a decent ride...I may get a few more years out of my kidneys now.
5. Custom Hub Studs. Bought grade 8 studs and self locking nuts for about $30.
6. New U-joints on the axles....mine were going.
7. New rotors.
8. 4.10 Gears....the locker will have to wait for Xmas....(Suzanne?..hint hint/wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif)
9. Zert Fittings on rear leaf spring hanger.
10. And all the other little details...repacked bearings....new seals...etc.
So far, so good......The real test will be on the 19th and 20th when I am up in Big Bear for the Jeep Jamboree.....Hope to see some of you there....
