Hello
I just starting installing my new 1/2 Daystar Greasable Shackles and i need to know what to torque them down to. I received no documention with them. Last night i started to torque them to 65lb, but before reaching that i noticed that they start to bow in. Does anyone know what they should be torqued down to?
On another not, what size is the nut on the pitman arm?
Thank You

I just put some Daystar 1.5" shackles on yesterday. 65 ft-lb is way, WAY too much torque. You want them to move freely when the suspension flexes. You should tighten them just until the sideplate of the shackle starts to compress both bushings and no more. The same goes with the bushings on your shocks, steering stablizer, sway bar, etc. I would guess it takes around 10-15 ft-lb, but I wouldn't use a torque wrench, I would go by sight and feel.

I think the pitman arm bolt is 1 1/4" or something around that. I just use a BIG cresent wrench.
