Survey: What axles are you running

Ok there has been a lot of talk about swapping different axles unders Jeeps and I wanted to see what some of the combinations that you guys are running. This way I can see what options I have for upgrades that I haven't thought of. I have the stock 30 front and 20 rear with one piece axles. This summer it is getting either a 44 front and rear (wagoneer) or 44f and 20r (wagoneer) or 44f 60r (out of who knows what). Let me know what you have. Thanks.

I have the stock 30 front with a Ford 9" rear. Running 32" ATs for now. Haven't broken the front yet.

Re: Survey: What axles are you running

I am running scout Dana 44's front and rear. I am thinking about going full width GM 14 bolt rear, and I think a front Dana 44 front is strong for a light weight Jeep I will use a full width 3/4 ton dana 44 front. As for the Dana 44 rear, I don't think it is strong enough for extreme rockcrawling or mud, well at least not with a built 401. It did fine behind my stock 304 for almost 3 years. Since I swapped engines I am starting to have problems.
Thanks Ray

Re: Survey: What axles are you running

yeah sure Keith but then I would have to put my two piece axles back in, and then put 35" tires on and then I would have to take a sledge hammer to my tie rod, driveshaft, and hub to catch up to your modifications for April. Then I would need keep the hammer handy so I can bust my tranny and rear axle when you do bust yours. Just joking. we're going to have to compare Jeeps in August so we can make a list of what parts are going to break on whose Jeep.

Re: Survey: What axles are you running

hey, when you do copy my jeep, let me know. i would like to help you break the hub, driveshaft, steering..you forgot t-case and both yokes in the rear. then after that we can have bets on who's axle will break first. but since i am soo good at that stuff, i know i can kick your butt at breaking parts. we will have to compare jeeps in august, but yours might be better if you do all the mods you are planning. i'll keep the theme to this post, so...
i am running 20 rear end w/2piece shafts and a locker. dana 30 front. YEA! watch me break. but i do plan the 44f 60r out of a jeep truck that i told you about

NO.. they NEVER break.... PSHA!!!!!
i carry 2 of each rear, and 1 of each front everytime i go wheeling
Can change them quick too...
I'm currently in the process of finding a mid 70's F*rd F250, and plan on running the axles Full width
