Time to start thinking about swaps

I pulled into quick trip yesterday and turned off the jeep ran inside, got some BR. Went back out to the jeep, cranked her up and "WHAP WHAP WHAP WHAP WHAP WHAP WHAP ", "WTF!?!?". Turned it off, got out, opened the hood. Oil is good, nothing out of place. Got back in cranked it back up "whap whap whap whap wrrrrrrroooooommmm......vvvvrrrrrroooooommmmm.... vroooommmmmmmm!!!!!!"WTH was that?!?!?"

It sounded like some kinda piston slap deep inside the block, one of those sounds you can feel through the gas pedal. It stopped after about 20 seconds everything looked fine on the guages. Now it may be just that I'm paranoid, but it sounds like I can still hear it just a little rrreeeeaaaaaalllllyyyyy muffled.

Anyhow this has just brought me to the realization that my 258 will someday die no matter how nice I treat the little garage whore. So I am gonna go with a 350 out of my grandmother's old 79 lesabre and the turbo 350 transmission that came in it also. They are both needing rebuilds so I will have them both gone through completely and slightly warm the engine. What kinda hassle am I going to have swapping this stuff into my 84 CJ w/dana 300,amc20 1-peice axles, dana 30 warn high strength axles. This thing when it's done will be back on the road as a daily driver. The Zuki comes out for road duty while it's down for the swap.
