high oil pressure

I posted a while back that my oil pressure was too high. I was told that my PCV was plugged or that the CV tube would be plugged. I checked and they aren't plugged. What else could be causing this. The pressure is about 40 psi at an idle and sometimes gets as high as 50 when at high rpms. I am getting more oil leaks and Im afraid that if I cant figure out whats going on then I am going to blow more seals. Thanks for the help.

Re: high oil pressure

50PSI is not that high! But if you are loking for something check the oil pump, there is a presure relief valve on it, it may have stuck (Not verry likely though!) Good Luck:

Re: high oil pressure

I was told that I should have 35 psi at 2500 rpms. Should there be that big of a difference. If its not a big deal then thats great but I wasnt really sure. Thanks

Re: high oil pressure

yea 50psi should not give you any problems! Every motor runs different so there is no set pressure for the oil. As long as it does not go below 5psi and does not go over 100psi I would not worry about it! Are you having trouble with blowing seals?
