Back from vacation

Well, I am back from a couple of weeks of wheeling in southern Colorado.
My brother and I were in his stock TJ and it performed beautifully.
His TJ has the three speed aout tranny in it and I was concerned about the downhill parts and wearing out the brakes.
Well, we went down some pretty steep trails and all we did was kicked it into 1st and let it idle down the trail.
As far as uphill goes it was great too, no shifting or clutch work involved which let me enjoy the view while wheeling instead of having to concentrate on the trail evert waking second of the drive.
We went over Cinnamon Pass a couple of times between Lake City, Silverton, and Ouray.
We would have gone over Engineer pass too, but they had not finished plowing the twenty plus feet of snow yet.
Overall, we had a great time seeing the sites, camping, fishing, and of course four wheeling.

Re: Back from vacation

Sounds like a great time, I really can't wait to get to Colorado and do some of the great trails, especially around Telluride, San Juan, etc.

Re: Back from vacation

I plan to go up there this summer or fall ...
Where did you camp and go (fly?) fishing?

Re: Back from vacation

Jaffer, we camped at Williams Creek Campground just south of Lake City.
It is off of the road to Lake San Cristobal.
Didn't get to do any fly fishing, but we did fish on the lake and caught a few trout.
I would have liked to fished on the rivers, but they were running too fast because of snow melt.
