Another spring over question........

I have an 89 YJ with 4" spring under black diamond lift. I also have 5" shackles front and rear with a shackle reversal front. I am tired of 33" tires and want to run 35's. I dont'want to add a 3" body lift. So I'm thinking of a SOA.

If I put my 4" (actually 3.5") springs over the axle will this be too much. What size shackles do most YJ SOA's run??

I'm trying to avoid spending big bucks on a new set of 2" springs for the SOA.

Re: Another spring over question........

Put your stock springs back on with a full length add a leaf. I did that and am running 35's with no rubbing until I installed the winch. Now it rubs only at full compression with no bumpstops. I think I'm going to install some bumpstops. 7" of lift is enough for me.

The best thing I did was giving those overpriced Black Diamond springs away to the first person that came by. The SOA rides and handles so much better that it's not even in the same game.

i went spring over with 4" springs and a leaf taken out.. 35x12.50 are perfect... but the 35X16 boggers rub at full flex

Jason,
how hard was it to get your steering "right" again? Any other problems I might encounter? I already have a Slip yoke eliminator and CV driveshaft.

Unfortunately, I do not have my original springs.
