Redline gear lube

Hi all, just a quick question on gear lube. I have a 99 TJ, dana30/35. Am changing the diff oil out with Redline 75w-90. The manual specs 80w-90 for these diffs, and was wondering if there could be any problem using the lower viscosity. I suspect many TJs are running this lube, but just wanted to check. Am in Southern Ca., so we dont have much temp extremes. Thanks in advance.
Matt

Re: Redline gear lube

Been running Mobil-1 75W-90 in the TJ for 60K now with no problems, in all temperature extremes.

Re: Redline gear lube

You cant go wrong with the Redline stuff. Its as good as it gets.
I use 75-90 Mobil 1 Synthetic.

Re: Redline gear lube

Actually, the viscosity between the 75w-90 and 80w-90 is the same...they are both a 90 weight gear lube. While the 75w obviously means it can be used in a cooler setting, both lubes have to pass the API rating for a 90 weight gear oil. Use either Mobile 1 or Amsoil, and you should have no problems and get the best performance.
