20 diff bracing

I've got a 20 rear end I'm going to be using on my flatty. Question is what do I need to do about welding/bracing to it? I've heard welding the tubes is a bad idea. Any pics?

Thanks
Keith

Re: 20 diff bracing

I paid to have a brace welded to the tubes. Basically, the steel brace runs over the top of the differential to each tube. I didin't weld it myself because I was afraid I would either burn through the tube or distort it. I had bent two previous tubes, where they are pressed into the diff. I've had this one about five years and haven't had any problems so far.

Sorry, I don't have any pics.

How's this for a brace?

It's on a friends jeep, and he beats on it hard, no problems.

Re: 20 diff bracing

The friend used pipe he cut in half and welded to the tubes, no breaks, cracks, or problems, and it's very strong, I have seen him jump it with no problems.
