need bumpstop extensions?

with my RE 4.5" lift and MTR 32x11.50's my rear tires are rubbing on body/flare. the RE "kit" didn't come with bumpstop extensions and i think if i installed these the articulation would be controlled and no more rubbing. i don't really want to re-install the 1" body lift and i don't want to hack at my body and flares.

if my lift was 4.5" wouldn't a 4.5" or close to it be the size of extensions to the bumpstops i need? same for the front? the bumpstops also protect the springs and shocks. wonder why RE doesn't include them with "kit"? $$$$$$?????

also any suggestions for a good quality extension and who has?

thanks

Re: need bumpstop extensions?

I have some I can't use from...Hmmm, i think they were from Rancho. Can't use them with a SOA. I've had them for a while. There're nice, they have a fat piece of poly. mounted to the top of a curved piece of medal, that mounts on top of the axle, held in by your u-bolts. To meet up with your upper bumpstop. I'm thinking about 3to4" tall. I used then in 97, when i was running a Rancho 2.5 lift and and 2" body with 35's. It wasn't pretty, but it worked
If your interested Send me ten bucks plus shipping and they're yours.
I'm in the Boston area

Re: need bumpstop extensions?

thanks rob-
looks like you don't need those anymore alright!
$10 is a great price and let me think about them. i was not liking the sounds of them being held down by the u-bolts. i just didn't like that design. i was leaning towards a "block" installed between the stock rubber bump and the frame. let's wait on those for now and i appreciate the offer!
thanks
