Re: Idle controler

This little black box'll work quite well... but IMNO it's about $100 too much. But then, I'm cheap!

Re: Idle controler

I am using one in my 1982 CJ-7 with 4.0L conversion. I like the ability to lower the idle when going down hill and increase the idle when winching or airing up tires. The thing that really sold me was being able to start the engine in gear without the Jeep leaping ahead because of the momentary increase in idle speed. The unit doesn't have a memory as to where you set the idle. Sometimes after a shutdown and restart the idle is higher or lower than where you set it but it is a minor problem.
I bought the higher dollar version with the remote switch and zip-tied it to my t-18 shift lever. I didn't like the idea of tapping into the MPI harness so I made a socket and plug from an old throttle body IAC motor and connected the controller that way. The price is a little steep but the quality and service is top notch.
