shackle lift

I am about to install 31x12.50/R15s on my stock 15x8 rims. My 93 Wrangler Renegade has no sort of lift whatsoever. I know that 31s will fit safely into the fender wells as long as no heavy-duty off-roading is going on, but I just want to make sure I have enough clearance. I am thinking about going with a shackle lift because it's a relatively cheap way to gain just one more inch of needed lift. However, even if I only raise my Jeep 1 to 1.5", would I still need new shocks to adjust for the change, or should the ones I have now (designed for no lift) still work?

Re: shackle lift

I would shy away from the shackle lift as to the front end alignment problems it can produce So if you are goping small a one inch body lift cant be beat. Esspecially if you are going to upgrade to say 33's in the future. Itll give you a little more flex room. Also be careful that the backspacing/offset with that size tire will work with your stock rims.
just my thoughts

Re: shackle lift

ditto that last one. i squeezed 31. 10.50's on stock wrangler rims, with a body lift only, and i get some pretty good rubbage when turning hard. works good at the dragstrip though.
