44 carrier removel/torque specs.

Cant get that damm carrier out
Pryed and pulled on it but that baby just wont budge
Carrier spreader?
Hope not
What other lil tricks have you guys come up with?
Also will be looking for the ring gear and carrier bolt torque specs. on the Scout Dana 44 rear

I already posted the torque specs, see other thread.

Should have popped out. The case spreader says to not spread the case more than 0.020", which isn't a lot. Try supporting the axle from as close to the middle as possible and putting a little weight on the ends. It should spread the center a little, remember, not much is needed. You can also try putting 2 long bars in the case, give them both a pop at the same time. Straight pressure might not do it, use a jerking motion, but don't get too radical. If it's cockeyed at all it'll bind, be should come out. Mine had 235,000 on them and they had never been out, didn't have a problem. Good luck.

if your replacing the gears, take the nut off the pinion and beat the whole assembly out...you have the axle shafts out right?? just had to ask..i have never had THAT much of a problem with them
