YJ Spring Over on CJ

My CJ-7 has a Pro Comp 4" lift, and I'm thinking about a YJ spring over. In John Nutter's article on the subject he said that he didn't do the shackle reversal and that it could have a negative effect (with flat springs). It makes sense to me. I don't want to do the S/R if I don't have to, but I am tired of the wandering. Anyone have any experience with this one?

Re: YJ Spring Over on CJ

i have flat springs with a spring over and a shackle reversal.. i love the way it drives, it flexes great. i used shackles that were a bit longer than usual in the back, and that seem to allow the springs to move independantly of each other when off-road..

it's sort of still a cj thingy....

Re: YJ Spring Over on CJ

this is a concern with a cj frame.. they are not all that strong, and a lot of people put the shckle mount through the frame(like on a yj).i made mine like a tank, so there is no way i'll have any cracks, but with one of the kits, you could have that problem

Thanks for the comments. I think I'll go through the frame also. It just makes sense.
