unbelievable

i put my new windshield in recently with the help of some of you guys. managed to get it in flawlessly, it was actually pretty easy with the good help of those that posted their .02
last night i had my CJ outside and the ZJ in the garage for some wrenching and went to my inlaws for a family thing. here in Oklahoma it is the season for bad weather and I thought "I should be back in time to get finished up and put the cj back inside"------WRONG. didnt make it home in time and we had hail about baseball size and well, the windshield now resembles its predecessor. aint' it great.
all in all i guess it may have been a good thing that the CJ was out instead of the ZJ but DAMN!
thanks for the help with the windshield, i am now practiced for the next one.

Re: unbelievable

Makes you glad you didnt pay $50 to get it installed eh...

Sorry to hear about the crappy luck, but I'm kinda glad to see I'm not the only one who gets shat upon, these things build character, at least thats what I've been told.

Re: unbelievable

yeah glad i didn't spend the dough. my character could spare this one though. I have read an article recently about replacing jeep glass w/ the "glass" that the NASCAR guys use. i think this is what i will try, i just wonder about the scratching the dirt can cause. it shouldn't be to spendy for the deminsions of a cj piece??? i hope.

Re: unbelievable

The nascar guys use what's called "speed glass", it's supposed to be super durable and unlike lexan(like they use on drag cars)it is not easy to scratch. The windshield in jeeps should be replaced every couple of years just for good measure since the flat gass pits easily from bugs and tiny road debry. The pitting of the glass causes a wicked glare that can actualy cause eye problems. But having to change your window after just putting it in SUCKS.

Re: unbelievable

Sounds like you got the worst of it. We did not get any hail here in Tulsa. Good luck getting it fixed.

Re: unbelievable

I have a 95 yj with a 2.5" lift, 31" tires, disconnects & lockers. Not one of the BIG DOGGS but I still have alot of fun...

My interior has been getting a little wet and getting that wet smell again. I know we can use the rain but it does not go well with the leaky top.

Take care

MJ
