Where do you find a catalog ro order form for military tires?????

I was wondering about special tires for the military? Not the old unidirectional tires that originally came on the jeep, but the tires on a hummer. I was thinking about this when peopl mentioned unimog tires. These military treads seems to be great, but not many people seems to ride them. Is there something wrong with them, or are they hard to get.

Re: Where do you find a catalog ro order form for military tires?????

You might try following MV (Military Vehicles) magazine, for awhile. Sometimes they have tire info. In the July/Aug, 1999 issue, page 42, there is an article on the Denman Coyote 9.00 x 16 tire that some folks are using. I have seen this tire referenced in other articles, too.
Looking at the ads in MV magazine, I see that Coker Tire (800-251-6336) advertises themselves as a source for military tires, but, they do not specifically mention Hummer. Another tire ad is from Wallace W. Wade, Specialty Tires, 43 years in military tires, 214-688-0091, and 800-666-TYRE (8973). Surplus City (818-767-3666) advertises tires, no mention of Hummer. And, Surplus Enterprizes (616-651-3707) advertises they are a HMMWV 'source', but the ad does not mention tires. Good luck.

Gemplers lists the tires that you seek. They're on page 409 (or somewhere near that) in their master 2000 cat. They have a website http://www.gemplers.com.

Good luck!

I have a '57 Willys wagon I'd like to restore with the non-directional tires. They're neat! You can find Coker Tires on the web at http://www.coker.com.

I have a set of 5 military tires on wheels that came with my 2A when I bought it. The size is 7 x 16 and they're about as tall as the 31's on the Jeep now. I don't plan on using them and would consider selling them. Good tread, no damage. I'm in IL.

in Charleston, SC there was a place that would sell you the 37" hummer tires and new whitespoke 5 on 5.5 rims for $350.. pretty cool...radial 37's.....\i wish i could remember the name of the place.. it's on hwy 70..just south of town...they also had the 36" hummer tires..
a friend of mine bought a TRUCKLOAD of used hummer tires from DRMO for $100.. he ran them on his ford forever..he just loved to smoke those things all day.. he had about 20 spares

~~Elusive~~
it's sort of still a cj thingy....

Re: Where do you find a catalog ro order form for military tires?????

4 wheel parts sell the Hummer Tires (Goodyear AT and MT). All the Hummers in the Army use either the Goodyear MT or Goodyear RTS(which is what I think you are looking for). The MT's actually seem to outperform the RTS's but I can't really prove that without extensive testing. The Hummer, as I am sure you are aware, uses a 16.5" rim, so unless you have a rim like that I don't think the hummer tires would fit.

Fun, not Safety, is paramount
