Last summer I put a set of headers on my AMC 304 Before I insatalled them, I painted them with duplicolor high temp paint 1500F (yeah right)and I followed the instructions for curing. The first time I ran the engine for an extended period of time the paint preceded to burn right off. Besides losing a few brain cells in the process, what can I use to keep my headers from rusting? I've worked very, very, hard to keep my jeep 99.9% rust free ( i mean everything )so, I'd like to continue the trend with the headers. any ideas, besides hot coating?

Re: Header Paint/coatings
i used something similar to that.. wasnt duplicolor.. different brand of hi heat paint.. and it worked great for me.. my headers were rusty.. so i bead blasted them and painted them with this stuff.. and then ran the jeep to bake it.. and afte like a year.. still was very good.. just really minor rust.. dont know what it is called but i got it at advanced auto.. is similar to what you used just a different brand..
