Removing Fender Flares?

So I'm going to make my angle iron rocker skids and I'm trying to take the bolts out, they have this funky circular thing that is like a nut but you can't get a wrench around it(circular) Is there an easy to take it off? I guess I could just cut it off, but is there an easier way?
Thanks,
BarrelRoll

Re: Removing Fender Flares?

I just removed all my YJ stuff to put my TJ flares on, and I do have to say that it was a major PITA.

I had the full side step YJ setup. Those round things sucked! I ended up having to pull 2 of them through the body, becuase you can't get a pair of vise grips behind them, as they are inside the body on 2 locations. I just yanked them out through the body, stretching the metal of the body a bit. I tapped the now rounded out hole back down - don't matter anyway, it'll all get covered up by the new rocker covers.
