Engine/Tranny/T-Case Compatibility

I'm putting a 360 in the ol' Jeep and it has a T-5 which I know won't hold up and a Dana 300 which should hold up. Do I want something like a T-176?? Will a 300 mount up to that? I know a T-18 will bolt up to the 360 but will the 300 bolt up to that?? Any help would be appreciated!!!

One problem with the 176, I believe 1st gear is kinda tall, 3.53 or something like that. But it is strong.

A T-176 will bolt up fine. I'm using a 727 from a Waggie in mine. It's also a bolt-in.

Re: Engine/Tranny/T-Case Compatibility

I do know for certain(and I don't know a lot about cjs but I know this) that a t176 will bolt to a danna 300. I only know this because a friend just recently bought a cj that has a t176/300.

An AMC turbo 400 with a adapter for the 300 will work.
