i measure 3" but the mags and write ups say 3.25

i am thinking of ordering the Lou Fegers adjustable spring perches and they only come in 3"

Re: 8.8 Tube Diameter?

Im pretty sure they are listed as 3.25", but they are close enough to 3", that if you have your eye on a set of perches, you will be able to make them work,(thats what grinders are for). When I made my last set of perches for an 8.8, I used 3.25 as my radius for the cut out, and it fit very nicely, but I have also used the standard 3" perches off of the shelf on a freinds axle in Reno, and it fit just a swell with just a light go around with my favorite tool,"The Grinder",(well actually "The Welder" is probably my favorite tool, but I dont want "The Grinder" to know this, since it can be such a painfull tool if it decides to turn on you).
A perfect fit at the perch and axle tube has a little bit bit of a fudge factor do to the fact that, your weld can make up some of the gap at the center or ends. A .25 difference would only be an 1/8 inch squeeze at each end of the perch, which could be easily ground a way, with no noticeable fittment problems throughout the arch of the weld joint.
