CJ8 Conversion

I'm planning a chev 350 conversion into an 82 CJ-8 with a T-4 tranny. Currently has a chev 250 inline 6. Any advice?

Re: CJ8 Conversion

I'd ditch the T-4. The sr-4in my chevy powered jeep has been replaced twice and rebuilt once. The guys at Advance Adapter tell me that the T-4 and SR-4 are about the same tranny. They didn't even think that the orld class T-4 they sold would be worth buying for me since I have the chevy smallblock and run 35's. Seriousy consider putting in a tougher tranny unless you don't plan on being too hard on the jeep or run ral small meats.

Re: CJ8 Conversion

Yea, dump the trannie. SM-465 would be good.

Are you sure about the 250? Not a 258?
