Lifter replacement in 304 V8 engine

I was wondering if you needed to pull the engine to replace the lifters in a 304 in a CJ7.

Thanks

Nope, just the intake manifold. I am not positive if this is required, but I have been told it is a good idea to do the cam-shaft at the same time, since the lifters and the cam wear together. Those lifters actually spin as they go up and down. That is why the lifter holes don't wear oval.

Mel
Dont even think of just replacing the lifters without doing the cam too . Get your self a nice CompCams 252H or a 260H for that 304 , some Melling lifters and your off to the hills
