Recommended Lift???

I have a 95 YJ with the 4cyl (yeah i know, but it runs) and everything is pretty much stock. I'm currently running some BFG 30x9.50's and would like to go up to 32's. I don't want to put a huge lift on my jeep, nor can i afford one. I would like something that doesn't ride like a three legged cow pulling a wagon...something kinda smooth riding, closer to factory the better. I was thinking about the Rough County "Soft Ride" 3.5" lift. Any pros/cons on this lift? What do you all recommend? Also, what gearing should I have for 32x11.50's? Keep in mind, pricing is #1 next to ride quality. Thanks.

Re: Recommended Lift???

I think the name says for itself on that lift. For money's issue you might want to go with BDS or Superlift Softride, they usually have a 2" lift not too much money. Any taller and you will have driveshaft issues, caster angles to deal with. Any bigger tires and you aren't going to move well.

Re: Recommended Lift???

Take a look at http://www.natltire.com/ntw0799/pages/fithit6.html

It doesn't have the 32's on there but it has the 31's stopping at 3" and the 33's starting at 4" so 3.5" should be about right for 32's. I don't know anything about that lift though.

BTW, Anybody know how much lift I need to have 35x12.5 tires on my 82 cj-7? I am thinking about going SOA, but what would I have to do if I just went with a 4" suspension? Add a 2" body lift? Which would be cheaper using my dana 30 and model 20 stock axles? Thanks, Andy

Re: Recommended Lift???

You should be able to put 35s with a 4" lift and probably some rubbing. I would use like a 1" body lift. Extended bumpstops would keep it out of the fenders. I would question the Model 20, I broke mine with 32s and a 6 cylinder, and i don't drive it hard, but some people never break them. You could always buy 1 Piece after market axles from Moser or Superior.
