Soft Top Recommendation

I'm in the market to replace my hard top w/ a soft top.

Any brand/model recommendations? Any I should stay away from?

Thanks,

Re: Soft Top Recommendation

Most people are not major fans of steel horse, I'd say the majority of people on this board are running best top super tops, I think I'm going to get a best top sun rider for my jeep but some people have had problems w/ them. Also if you are looking for a used top contact [email protected] he has a fair amount of them though most are for cj's.

Re: Soft Top Recommendation

Unfortunately your choices are few. I have a Bestop Replacement top on my CJ-7, I refuse to get a Supertop, they are WAY too expensive . Too bad ACME went under, the original top on my Jeep was an ACME, had REAL zippers, not the wienie ones like bestop uses.

Re: Soft Top Recommendation

Man, people have been down-right trashing Steel Horse here (just read an earlier post regarding Steel Horse).

What makes it funny is I just ordered a replacement pair of seat belts from them... Not exactly something I I'd want made from Fisher Price material

After some thought though... I doubt Jeep spent a bundle on the originals

Re: Soft Top Recommendation

I have a Bestop Supertop, easy install, good fit, and yeah it was $$$. I would get another one probably but there is a company making a top called the Windbreaker that looks pretty cool, it's also $$$, info @ http://www.rockgearinc.com Just some ideas.

Re: Soft Top Recommendation

The Rockgear tops are VERY popular around here, of course this is where they make them, so no shipping is involved. I've been to their facility, it appears they use real craftsmen, not illegal 3rd world labor.

Re: Soft Top Recommendation

If it's well made with good materials, I don't mind paying the price. I just hope I don't roll over on it right away, I hate it when that happens.

I have a Besttop Supertop. I'm going on my second summer with it and no problems yet.

I like my besttop. Fits good, and I haven't torn it.
