drive shaft problems

just put in a 4 inch superlift on my wifes 98 tj after installing the lift got vibration and once in a while the whole jeep would shake and the shifter would slam back and forth side to side any suggestions.

Yes you do have a problem there. You need a S.Y.E. installed. Did you lower your t/case? If you haven't I would start there.

Did you lower the skidplate? Did you install a SYE kit and a longer driveshaft? That's what will get rid of the vibration. Your u-joints might be operating at too much angle.

The other possibility is that your u-joints are not operating at the same angle. Get a protractor and measure the angle of the transfer case output and compare it to the pinion angle. The pinion should be between 0 and 2 degrees down from the transfer case.

yes i lowered the transfer case it came with cam bolts to adjust the angle in the back noticed today that the guy who put them in stripped them got new ones comming having the shop put them in will i damage anything driving it there if i drive slow its about 30 miles

You could take out the seal in the back of the t/case if it's that bad. Try to get it fixed as fast as possible!
