I Got a Wagoneer Cheap

I got a 1980 360, 4 barrel Wagoneer dirt cheap. I intend to pull the engine and the front axle (it is a drivers side D44 and I have a CJ, but I'll pull it anyway), the steering box and the driveshafts. Is there anything else on it that should be saved from the crusher? The power brake setup?

the rear axle, the power brake set up, the rear window motor and switches, the tranny/Tcase, the springs, the front shock mounts, the radiator, the shroud, the trailer hitch, the brushguard..

Re: I Got a Wagoneer Cheap

Hey Ozark,
Thanks for the tips. I did not think about the shroud or the shock towers. The tranny is already promised out. I hope to hook up with a manual flywheel in the next week or so.... There is a manual flywheel in a Junkyard, but the owner won't part it out until he finds out if the engine it's attached to is trashed. What's up with the rear window stuff?

Re: I Got a Wagoneer Cheap

one of hte most common wag maladies is the rear window not functioning properly, most of us know it isnt the motor that goes bad but usually one of hte 2 switches that actuate it.

BUT since most shops are morons they replace the motor first, so the motors are worth a fair chunk, and teh switchsvaluable to someone who is trouble shooting ( IF THE SWITCH IS GOOD)

alot of the interior parts might be worth $$ too if in good shape, check out the IFSJA website and post it with any good interior parts you might have.

there is a really good following for these old beasts, you just have to know where to look!

Don't forget the steering column especially if it's tilt. It will bolt right in most CJ's.

BillR I believe has a manual flywheel for a 360 that you might want if he didn't sell it.
