Engine Bolt Specs & Sizes

Alrighty, here's my problem...I let a schmuck do some work on my 84 CJ7/258 (boy did I screw up) and he managed to lose almost all of the bolts for the components that attach to the engine. Now I get to replace them. Does anyone know the sizes of the intake/exhaust manifold and other accessory bolts where I can find a detailed list of the bolt sizes? Thanks in advance...

I really don't, even though I have one. Your best bet would be to pay a visit to your local junkyard. If they don't have cj's look for amc cars. Even if you don't get all used at least you can get one of each so you can match them up at the hardware store.

You could try the parts guy at your local jeep dealer. They should have every bolt listed on their computer. Just look at the pictures and point out the ones you need.

Re: Engine Bolt Specs & Sizes

You could call Totally Stainless and order an engine kit.
They have all the bolts scoped out and package them as to components such as motor mounts, alt bracket, manifold bolts, etc ...

Or just learn your bolt sizes - Jeeps are easy - measure lengths and go buy em ...

Re: Engine Bolt Specs & Sizes

Alrighty, thanx for the suggestions. For simplicity's sake, I found a complete bolt kit for $40 that should do the job and save me alot of time measuring. I think I'll measure all of the ones in the kit though and make a list just in case it ever happens again.
