How can I tinker with a 2100

So I finally decided to tinker with my 2100 instead of replacing it with another carb. This was sparked by a look down the bore. I noticed that a large piece of teh upper gasket was hangin down into the venturi. This would account for the weird running. So I decided to rebuild it.

Here's the idea. I have it apart and am cleaning it. What about using my Dremel to clean the casting edges on the venturis and inner parts? Will this affect things any...good or bad?

I also noticed that the brass tubes inside the venturi pickup were covered with scale. Upon looking into their respective holes in the body, I saw even more scale. What would cause this?

Lastly, are there any mods that I can do to my 2100 that will make it better in general?

Thanks,
Fritz

Re: How can I tinker with a 2100

One of the last couple(or 3) issues of JP magazine had a really good rebuild article on the 2100 . If you can`t find it I`ll scan it for you and send it . Let me know .

Thanks...I'll look at my issues. I don;t get all of them b/c the store that carries them is WAY out of my way. I may need to take you up on that offer.

Re: How can I tinker with a 2100

I looked alla round and couldn't find any other than the March issue. I am going to tinker with it and see what happens. I am planning on carefully smoothing any rough edges and cleaning out places where for some reason or another the metal has distorted ot been damaged and is covering a hole. I figure on doing fairly little to it until I can find that magazine or anybody gives me any advice...soooooo...back to the top!
